Duitsland – EiG bevestigt LaunchPad-shortlist

By - 17 oktober 2017

Start-up businesses seeking a combination of investment and inspiration will be out in force at the forthcoming EiG (The Arena Berlin, 30 October – 1 November) with organisers, Clarion Gaming, confirming a shortlist of five for the annual LaunchPad competition.

The EiG 2017 LaunchPad finalists comprise: BotGaming: A Blockchain-powered gambling platform for messenger bots (Presenter CEO, Kirill Pyrev); Chalkline Sports: An intelligent audience monetisation platform for mobile sports betting with automated data driven content for higher Customer Lifetime Values (Presenter: CEO, Daniel Kustelski); Contrarian Investments: US entity wagering platform making Nevada-based sports wagers on behalf of investors (Presenter Owner, Chris Connelly); eSports.com ltd: A one-stop-shop for eSports interested companies and individuals, combining community with real revenue streams (Presenter: Co-Founder and CEO, Philipp Geppert) and Relex Studios: An HTML5 technology suite that allows users to run Unity 2D games in a mobile browser for RMG (Presenter: CEO, Ngozi Watts).

Since its inception in 2008, the EiG LaunchPad has bought small businesses to the fore allowing gaming, gambling and technology start-ups to introduce their companies to the industry’s key influencers. Selected following a submission process, the start-ups receive an invaluable opportunity to present their ideas and revenue projections to a panel of judges who then quiz them on their propositions. The final decision on the winner rests with EiG attendees who vote for the most investable start-up at the end of the session.

Judging the start-ups and commenting on the pitches will be VC and strategic investors: Evan Hoff, Director, Velo Capital Partners and Co-Founder, RNG Foundry; Anton Kaszubowski, Director and Owner, Greenlaw Limited; Paul Barnes, Investor and Former MD, Intralot Germany and Tom Murgatroyd, Head of Product and Operations, Sky Betting and Gaming.

“I have been a judge on the EiG Launchpad for a few years now and it’s always interesting to see new approaches to gaming. The industry is often said to lack innovation and the Launchpad has been a driving force in showcasing emerging technologies and ideas. Over the years there have been some really interesting start-ups with investment potential and I’m looking forward to hearing this year’s pitches,” commented Evan Hoff from Velo Partners.
