Philippines – PH Resorts delays The Base development to focus on Emerald Bay

Philippine’s operator PH Resorts Group has been given permission from PAGCOR, the Philippines gaming regulator, to delay the development of The Base, a casino resort based in Clark so it can concentrate on its Emerald Bay Resort and Casino in Cebu.
De basis zou in 2022 worden geopend met 600 elektronische speelautomaten, 100 speeltafels en 400 hotelkamers, samen met winkels en restaurants.
PH Resorts zei dat het besluit tot uitstel was genomen 'vanwege enkele aanhoudende onzekerheden rond de casino-gokindustrie, vooral met meer concurrentie op de locatie in Clark, Pampanga.'
Het bedrijf zei: “Aangezien de huidige financiële projecties zich concentreren op de plannen van PH Resorts Group voor het Emerald Bay-project, zal de vrijwillige opschorting van de licentie van CGLC geen effect hebben op de huidige financiële cijfers. PH Resorts Group verwacht dat de opschorting weinig tot geen impact zal hebben op het bedrijfsleven.”
Emerald Bay should open by the third quarter of 2022 with Phase 1 to include 122 gaming tables, 600 EGMs and 270 hotel rooms.
