US – Genting to open Resorts World Hudson Valley next year

Genting Malaysia, which owns Resorts World New York City and Resorts World Catskills in Sullivan County, has said it hopes to debut Resorts World Hudson Valley, its new casino in Newburgh, New York, by 2022.
Meghan Taylor, Vice President of government affairs and public relations for Resorts World, said: “We look forward to breaking ground soon and delivering on our commitment to create good-paying union jobs for local residents, help revitalize the Newburgh Mall, serve as an economic engine in the Hudson Valley, and begin generating revenue for New York State’s public schools.”
The projected opening follows Newburgh’s Town Board approval of an agreement between Monticello Raceway Management and Resorts World Hudson Valley to bring video lottery terminals and an electronic casino to the Newburgh Mall in Orange County, New York.
Genting is van plan om 1,300 videoloterijterminals op de locatie te exploiteren, samen met de kenmerkende lounge van Resort World, Bar 360. Het zal 200 tot 225 voltijdse banen creëren, met een gemiddeld jaarsalaris van $ 74,000, inclusief voordelen. De VLT-locatie zal jaarlijks 3 miljoen dollar aan hostkosten genereren, verdeeld over de stad Newburgh en Orange County.
